Eileen | At Koinonia, one thing we really value is good, clean fun.  On Halloween night, we hosted Koinonia Live and combined SFSU Koinonia along with our friends from USF Koinonia!  We started the night of with a huge (I mean huge!) potluck that could have probably fed 200 people!  I saw fish, veggies, stews, all sorts of salads, appetizers, meat dishes, etc., I mean you name it, we had it and then of course.. ate it.  Oh and yeah the dessert table was just packed with homemade treats. For the health conscious? Mm….not really.  For those who want warm, delicious mouth-watering food that makes you wish you had worn sweats?? You bet. What a time of fellowship! After feasting until we could eat no more, we had a time of praise followed by a Bible study given by Daemin.  The night didn’t end there as we continued with times of laughter, holding back to the tears of joy and pain from being so full.  We played Pictionary and man, I have never seen people so excited over a game of Pictionary.  People screaming, yelling, faces look twisted with confusion, cheering and jumping up and down.  I thought to myself, “Only at Koinoina!” Afterwards, we played another game called “The Best of the Best” where each team sent up a representative for various categories and some ridiculous games like who could blow the biggest bubble with their peice of gum, who could read the genealogy of Christ the fastest, or who could juggle 3 coins the longest, etc.  I have the say, one of the funniest one was who can make and throw their paper airplane the farthest.  A good friend of mine gave hers a whirl, only for it to land right next to the host’s feet… he was standing right next to her!  Anyway, I could go on and on, but check out our photos on Flickr to see what I’m talking about!  Koinonia knows how to have a good time and I’m so thankful that we gave an alternative to all the other crazy stuff that was out there in the city that night.  I hope you can join us next year!  But until then, I know there will be more opportunities like Koinoina Live!

Man, NSWN has come and gone and what a night it was! We had over 500 new friends join us for our welcome night program and mouthwatering Korean BBQ! All the hard work and many sleepless nights were worth it and we’re so glad that you were able to come. Here are a few pictures from the night of our welcome night!

Gym Night (8/29/08)

Check it out! Here are some pictures from our Gym Nite! It was a lot of fun with so many of us going out there with good spirits, wearing our team colors and giving it our all. We played some soccer, handball, and wild turkey! Still don’t know what wild turkey is?? You gotta make it out to our next Gym Nite! In the meantime, check out this slideshow!

There’s music, a skit, video, laughter, new friends, great free Korean BBQ and a talk that will you get thinking.
