UC Berkeley Christian Fellowship (Club)
Koinonia is a UC Berkeley student ministry that meets weekly to study the Bible and hear out God’s perspective. We talk, discuss & ask questions to arrive at answers as we investigate and discover God’s purpose for us. Along the way we also hang out, eat good food, study really hard, and “do life” together. After all, sometimes being students on campus runs us through its gamut of ups and downs – thrills, boredom, loneliess, anxiety, or struggling to fit in somewhere – but the upside is that we do it together as we build a community of faith around the love of God.
Curious what Koinonia means?
It’s Greek for “fellowship” and that’s what we’re all about. Get a glimpse into our community by checking out our Life Groups (aka Small Groups) and Class Ministries!

Our Speaker
Meet Koinonia’s guest speaker: Pastor Ed Kang! A graduate of UC Berkeley (Class of ‘85) and Boalt Law School, he eventually left his law career to become the pastor of Gracepoint Berkeley Ministries. For more than two decades, he has been ministering to college students, and delivering intelligent and relevant messages.
Kelly Kang, Pastor Ed’s wife, graduated from UCSD and worked for ten years as a software engineer in the Bay Area. She eventually quit her job to join Pastor Ed in full-time ministry to more fully employ her gifts and passion to serve others. Together, Pastor Ed and Kelly Kang form a dynamic ministry duo.

Our Alumni Advisors
Stephen and Suzanne are both Cal alumni (Class of ‘94) and have been advising and mentoring Cal students in our Christian fellowship for the past 15 years. You can typically catch Steve working in his office on the Berkeley campus or hanging out at Strada during his breaks talking to some college students or Suzanne having office hours at Durant Loft.
