For those of you who joined us last Friday, you were able to experience the entertaining, somewhat wacky, and downright hilarious atmosphere of TFN gamenight. Whether it was speed-Scrabble among competing teams (who says we aren’t trendy, avid Words with Friends players?) or Richard T. drawing plenty of attention and some exasperation during the talent sharing by singing a medley of the names of all 200+ nations, laughter and joy prevailed throughout the night. Enough explanation, let the games begin!

Last week on Friday, the Freshmen and Juniors made a journey up north to San Rafael for Country Club Bowling! You can bet that everyone showed their best… “game faces”
Normal game faces:
Not so normal game faces:
Um. Yeah.
It was a lot of inter-class fun, along with celebrating every strike and spare.
The ultimate champions of the night were Smith (who bowled an incredible 180!) and Robin, the leader among the sisters with 148. But an honorable mention definitely goes to Isaac and other “injured” players, who were not kept down despite crutches and bad backs.
Now that takes some serious next skill. Join us next time!
Believe it or not, Welcome Week events have already passed by in a dizzying blur, and we are about to start our first full week of fall semester 2011! Whether it was our daily and rowdy game times during Koinonia Kream, delicious pizza and adrenaline-pumping ultimate frisbee on VLSB lawn, or the massively awesome showings of NSWN, everyone experienced the joy of forming relationships with new people. Here’s a brief recap of some of our events!
One of our most popular events hosted during Welcome Week was the Ultimate Frisbee and Pizza, where about 60 or so students gathered on the VLSB lawn to play ultimate frisbee, then satisfy their tiredness and hunger by feasting on delicious BBQ chicken pizza provided by Pepe’s Pizza.
Don’t be fooled, most of the time, the frisbees are flying ABOVE the ground! But even if they are rolling chaotically on the ground, it makes the game that much more exciting! Read the rest of this entry »
Congratulations to all who finished the 10K (or 5K)! It was tough, but we cheered each other on, bonded through the experience, and raised money for missions! We drew some spiritual lessons too – like the importance of training ourselves spiritually every day. Great run, everyone!
Check out the sharing and words of advice from our 2011 graduating seniors of Gracepoint Berkeley. We’re thankful for God’s faithfulness in your lives!
This past Friday (4/29), we had different LIFEgroups and classes eat dinner together, and then we all headed to BT for our last all-Koinonia Bible study of the semester together.
It was Senior Night, so we heard several of the graduating seniors’ testimonies about how God has been at work shaping their lives these past four years. After Bible study, many of the seniors shared their parting words of advice to the underclassmen. Many of the underclassmen also shared thanks to the graduation seniors, sharing how many of the seniors had impacted them and encouraged them these past four years. We had an awesome, encouraging time together. Here’s some pictures:
Matthew T said, "The flying ninja wasn't even during the actual bowling time. Monica was trying to take some cool photos before we started playing.
And who gave us the name Team Gross? Why the harsh judging?" about Soph Bowling Night!!
Sean W said, "I like Team #1... except that Josh seems to have missed the memo..." about Soph Bowling Night!!
