TR, TC, SLG, ALW, and Guess Who!

I’ll be surprised if someone could guess what all these bad acronyms stand for before reading the post. But where could any post start besides… Thanksgiving Retreat!? We all had an amazing time hearing the different ways God has been at work this past year, from our Joyland and Impact ministries all the way up through IGSM, Praxis, and our Taiwan, Austin, and Davis churches! We were all really reminded how faithful God is and how he is able to multiply every little thing that we offer up to him.

And now for the smooth transition to… Thanksgiving Celebration! We had a great practice this past Friday and everyone seemed to have a good time dancing and rapping! Here’s some pictures:
We’re covering a lot in this post! We’ve been featuring a lot of the Brother’s Life Group activities, so thought I would include a picture from the past Sisters’ Life Group! They had a fun, cozy time of baking (yummy!) and sharing baby pictures and childhood stories. Think that gives them an unfair advantage for our Guess Who game? We’ll see…
And now, for our Answer to Last Week – looks like this past week’s Guess Who was the hardest yet! Good job Angel!
The scores are all getting quite close, with 6 people sharing the lead! Who’s going to take it all? Well let’s skip to the chase – here’s this week’s clues:
1. I’ve always wanted to live on a farm, though some might argue that I already did because I’ve had dogs, rabbits, chickens, quails, fish, tortoises, pigeons, etc. as pets growing up.
2. When I was really young, I was too short to see out the window, so my sister would get down on all fours, and let me stand on her back so I can see out the window. I don’t know why we were too stupid to just grab a chair.
3. One winter when I was around 7 years old, I thought my stuffed toy kangaroo might be cold, so I placed her in front of the heater. After a couple minutes, I went to check up on my kangaroo to see if she had warmed up a bit, but to my horror, her chest was burnt…like completely burnt. The fur on her chest is now orange, and kinda hard.
4. Sophomore year of college, we went up to the big C one night after Bible study and told ghost stories. I was so scared that night that I couldn’t sleep, so I made my roommate sing hymns to me until I fell asleep.

But the Thanksgiving Retreat was so encouraging and overwhelming! I especially liked hearing the sharing and singing from Austin. I can’t believe they’re going into their second year. & I like how you chose the pictures that attempt to embarrass the staff the most.
