Weekend Recap!
Oct 5, 2009
What a packed weekend! Let’s start with Friday: After our Bible Study on “Why Am I So Envious”, our home group joined Dan and Hannah’s homegroup at Dana House for a time of fellowship and games. We broke up into teams and played Scattergories. It was a hilarious time of racking our brains trying to come up with words as well as arguing for patently absurd answers such as “Oscillating Limbs” as a bad habit.

Then on Saturday we joined A2F for a tailgate and watch party for the Cal-USC football game. Needless to say, it was a sad day for Cal Football, but we had a great time of eating pizza while commiserating about our extremely unproductive offense and taking advantage of the halftime lull to engage in some intense King-Kong shower competition!
Finally on Sunday, our entire congregation at Gracepoint celebrated together as we witnessed the Baptism of 39 of our precious brothers and sisters, among them our very own Amy and Elaine² (Elaine and Elaine!). Only 6 of them read their testimonies because of time limitations, but the rest of them shared their testimonies by flipping a card with a word describing what their life was like before they met Christ and afterwards. It was a powerful moment that reminded us of the transforming power of the Gospel. There is no such power that the world can boast. Congratulations again Amy, Elaine and Elaine!
