Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like bananas

Wow. I can’t believe it’s already the 4th (technically..) week of school .. or some people would say.. you mean it’s ONLY the 4th week?  People have been telling me how it seems both long and short at the same time because so much happens and you meet so many new people. What really hit me this year is that not too long, our seniors and juniors were the freshmen being invited to our homes, checking out life groups. I still remember my first impressions of them =)  Now they’re opening their homes to the current freshmen/ newcomers and being the hosts instead!

Here’s a video of one of the many food & fellowship times we’ve been having:

Last week we had our first Lifegroup. Here’s a short sharing from one of our seniors Wendy who helped host the freshmen:

“Joining the Freshman LIFEgroup was so much fun last week.  It brought back a lot of memories of my first freshman LIFEgroup, like walking into a room filled with the aroma of yummy, delicious food, meeting new faces, and feeling  a little awkward.  But now, as a senior, I really cherish my LIFEgroup experiences because it was an environment in which I could really let my guard down and get some real answers about Christianity and about life.
Seeing some of the freshman join us LIFEgroup made me really excited for all that they’re in store for!  A lot of them do not know much about Christianity, and I was exactly there three years ago.  Through LIFEgroup, I discovered so much about Christianity, about life, and about myself through peer relationships I started building in LIFEgroups.  I only hope that these freshman will find the same open environment to be freely themselves, explore Christianity, build true friendships, and find God.  I’m so excited!”
Looking forward to more precious times to come!

I’m really thankful that our upperclassmen girls are opening their places and lives to the new students as older ones before them have done the same! Thanks for the sharing Wendy. I am also really excited for the potential memory making and relationship building and seeking God and finding answers together for all the new students!

I can’t believe that it was 3 years ago that we had OUR first LIFEgroup in Esther and Jacqui’s apartment on Hillegass.
    Time really does fly…

    Oh, by the way
I think it’s supposed to be “fruit flies like a banana”

Thanks to all the freshmen who have been coming! I love having people at our apartment all the time, especially since a) it’s always open to people and b) it forces us to clean. I hope that it can be a place where people can feel comfortable sharing honestly and having fun with each other. That dinner was so delicious by the way!
