SET: Reason for God
This summer, we’ve been reading through Timothy Keller’s Reason for God. The book is a product of Dr. Keller’s 20 years of ministry as pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. Keller articulates the questions, objections, and skepticism towards God and the Christian faith from hundreds of conversations he’s had. He boils it down to seven major questions:
- There can’t be just one true religion
- A good God could not allow suffering
- Christianity is a straitjacket
- The church is responsible for so much injustice
- A loving God would not send people to hell
- Science has disproved Christianity
- You can’t take the Bible literally
We meet each week to discuss a chapter, helping one another articulate the arguments in our own words, and get equipped to engage our own friends and communities.
